Why did the website move?
What happened?
You know what? There are some automatic tools online, things that are offered as “security” apps, that took an educated guess that our previous website’s address (SpillTheTea.cc) was hosting malicious content.
Weird. Why did that happen?
Investigation is ongoing. Some have suggested that the .cc in the previous website address made the false flag more likely. There are other explanations, related to the lack of precision with relying on automated tools to determine website safety.
But this website is and always has been safe, right?
Yes. At no point has this site exposed visitors to malware, malicious scripts, redirects, or unsafe downloads. A full file-level and database review by a professional WordPress security firm confirmed the absence of any malicious code.
Additionally, the site runs over HTTPS, and it is hosted in an isolated environment on our own Cloudways server. Our systems regularly monitor for unauthorized file changes and known vulnerabilities through mechanisms such as Patchstack.
The “malicious” classification applied by a small number of third-party tools was the result of automated heuristics rather than the detection of any real security issue, and there has never been evidence of risk to visitors or their devices.
Robots will play. What has been done?
After confirming with certainty that the site is squeaky clean, we looked into what could have caused a “malicious site” flag on a site with no malicious code. The previous (.cc) website was never on any blacklists, so there was nothing to resolve, no way for us to dispute their automated error.
Ultimately, we decided to relocate the site here onto this new (.com) website, to help avoid future automated “security” flags that have no basis in reality.
You may also notice a Trusted Site certification has been added here for a short time. This is for any potential clients who encountered the security warnings last week and may appreciate this extra level of the assurance of the safety of this site.
